Jenn Shurkus of Amuse stamps celebrates Amuseapalooza at Simply Scrapbooks

Join Jenn in all of her classes the weekend of July 10th to kick off Amuseapalooza, and become part of her fellow a muse addicts!! Jenn lives on Cape Cod where she manages a scrapbook and stamp store.  With a degree in graphic design she has been stamping for a over 10 years, and fills her time with scrapbooking, paper crafting and teaching lots of fun classes! She has been  “officially” teaching for her favorite company for almost 4 years now.  Jenn’s motto for cards have always been quick and simple.  Jenn loves to show people new and clever ideas to design their cards, she also LOVES to have more people fall in love with a muse just as she is! Jenn is also copic marker and ranger certified, so she is always introducing new techniques and supplies into her classes. A Copic Christmas

Jenn is a certified copic instructor and she loves to show tips and tricks with these fabulous markers! We will create 4 holiday cards, as well as learning different techniques you can use on other creations! (Basic blending knowledge helpful, but not required.)  Class fee: $25,  (all students should have :scissors, tape runner, foam tape/popdots, quickie glue pen/glue pen)

Halloween Spooktacular!
Saturday July 10th 1pm-3pm

Jenn is visiting us from the east coast where everything is *wicked* so join her in her spooky class!! We will be creating 5 fall and halloween themed cards. A Muse has always had spooooktacular halloween images, so be one of the first to play with the new stamps. It is sure to be a hoot!

Holiday Countdown Advent Calendar
Sunday July 11th 1pm-5pm

 This is the 5th year jenn has been offering an advent calendar class. Each year has brought a more creative and unique home decor-item that makes a perfect gift, although truthfully people end up keeping it for themselves because they love it so much! This year will not disappoint! Combining a muse's fabulous holiday images and papers you will create this beautiful advent board, with 25 different containers to store special treats in! You could alter this for any celebration. This is a must do class, you won't be disappointed! Supply retail value is well over $100  Class Fee: $75, 4 hour class all supplies included (but adhesives) (all students should have :scissors, tape runner, foam tape/popdots, quickie glue pen/glue pen, glossy accents)...this sample will be in the store soon!

Join Jennifer McGuire of Hero Arts for a NEW class full of color. Copic Marker Class with Jana

 

Join Jana Monday May 24th for a "Copic Marker Class" this class is for beginners and those who have been using Copics for quite a while. Cost is $27.

Join Jana Millen, certified Copic instructor,  to learn all of the wonderful things you can do with Copic markers.  You will learn about the markers themselves, the color system, blending techniques, shading and  more.    In the interest of learning about and practicing several techniques in the time that we have, we will not make any projects.  But we will have time to color and play and try them out!

You will need at least one “set” of Copic Markers that can be blended.   A set is markers where the letters in front of the color code are the same but the numbers are 2-3 numbers apart.  For instance, E31, E34, and E37. You will also need a blender pen (0 is the color code).    If you don’t own any sets or markers we have them in stock at the store and you can purchase them there.   Plan to share markers with others and you will do the same so you can get experience with lots of different color families. 

Here are some suggestions on color “sets” to bring or purchase (but they don’t have to be these):

Dave Brethauer of Memory Box Comes to Simply Scrapbooks

Dave Brethauer of Memory Box coming July 31st

Dave, the owner of Memory Box stamps is visiting Simply Scrapbooks on Saturday, July 31st. We are so honored to have him visit our store and I know our customers love him as well. He is the expert at coloring and we can all learn from him. I know many of us at the store will be taking his classes. He authored the book "Card Design" and we can never keep it in stock!

Dave will teaching two classes:

Memory Box Colored Pencils
Come and learn about color, blending and shading while using Memory Box images and papers. Each student will make 5 cards using colored pencil techniques that will make you color like a pro! We'll put color to work in analogous and complementary color schemes to really make your greeting cards stand out! Cost is $40.
Saturday July 31st from 10am-1pm

Memory Box Watercolor
This fun class teaches watercolor paints and watercolor pencils. Learn the advantages of each watercolor media and get some helpful tips for applying watercolor to greeting cards. Try out different types of watercolor paper while learning washes and blending techniques. Each student will create 5 cards in an informative and supportive teaching style. Cost $40
Saturday July 31st from 1pm-3pm

Dave will provide the pencils in class, however feel free to bring your own if you'd like.
