Copic Marker Class with Jana

 

Join Jana Monday May 24th for a "Copic Marker Class" this class is for beginners and those who have been using Copics for quite a while. Cost is $27.

Join Jana Millen, certified Copic instructor,  to learn all of the wonderful things you can do with Copic markers.  You will learn about the markers themselves, the color system, blending techniques, shading and  more.    In the interest of learning about and practicing several techniques in the time that we have, we will not make any projects.  But we will have time to color and play and try them out!

You will need at least one “set” of Copic Markers that can be blended.   A set is markers where the letters in front of the color code are the same but the numbers are 2-3 numbers apart.  For instance, E31, E34, and E37. You will also need a blender pen (0 is the color code).    If you don’t own any sets or markers we have them in stock at the store and you can purchase them there.   Plan to share markers with others and you will do the same so you can get experience with lots of different color families.

Kids Class Mother's Day Tag Mini Book, Saturday May 8th at 11:30am

Join Val, Cassie and Danielle in our Kids class on Saturday, May 8th at 11:30am. The cost is $7 for this cute mini tag book and stamp a darling little "pure innocence stamp" and color it. There is a place to write a note to mom. This class is offered to "kids of all ages". Just no kits will be available.

Just bring your adhesive, scissors, and coloring pencils to class. We will have some pencils to share but it might be a good idea to have your own.

BERRY BEST FRIENDS LAYOUT CLASS

Join Lori Monday, April 26th and create this spring layout. Perfect for someone who likes dimension as the strawberries are emboss, layered cardstock is involved, as well as a cloth dress for the bear on the right page. This class begins at 6pm and costs $22.

GLAZE, GLIMMER & GLAM!!   Tuesday April 13th 2-5pm $40

(3 hour workshop)

Explore the shimmery world of Tattered Angels in this technique-based workshop.  Using Glimmer Mist and the new Glimmer Glam and Glimmer Glaze we’ll work on a variety of surfaces such as paper, acrylic, metal, embossed chipboard and more to achieve fabulous effects for all your crafting projects.  You’ll learn the basics and new fun techniques such as tinted photo transfers, translucent embossing, wax resists, frozen Glam and so much more!! Additional Tattered Angels products covered will be Glimmer Screens and coordinating acrylic stamps, Glimmer Glass, Chip Tiles, Framed Fonts, Chalkboard Mists and some of the new releases from Heidi Swapp. 

The finished project can be used as a technique reference book with written instructions for each technique on the backs of each page OR keep the instructions separate and turn it in to a mini-book!  The possibilities are endless…

 

**Basic tool kit should always be brought to each class including scissors, 12” paper trimmer, pencil and a variety of adhesives…Glossy Accents is always recommended***

 

Please bring to class a 1” flat paint brush plus a smaller brush for more details and a toner-based (LASER) photocopy of a photo on regular copy paper.  

COMPLETELY DISTRESSED – LAYOUT MASTERCLASS

Tuesday April 13th 6-10pm $60  (4-5 hour workshop)

Whether you prefer a vintage style or bright happy colors, Tim Holtz’s Line of Distress products can customize any paper crafting project to the look and color scheme YOU want to achieve. 

In this workshop you will create 6 unique 8x8” layouts focusing heavily on technique…you can follow the color selections I’ve used in my samples or use the same techniques in colors of your choice!  You will learn how to use Tim Holtz Stamps in artful and unusual ways to create beautiful backgrounds, borders, titles, embellishments and even tint photos.  We will use the complete line of Distress Products including inks, re-inkers, crackle paints, stickles, embossing powders with a few of my other favorite goodies mixed in.  The goal of this workshop is to teach you all that this line is capable of beyond just inking the edges!

 

*please bring to class a 12” paper trimmer, scissors, pencil, variety of adhesives and heat gun if you have one.

GRUNGY GREETINGS

Wednesday April 14th 6-9pm $28  (3 hour workshop)

Customize your greetings in the full range of new Distress Ink colors while working with Grungeboard elements, new Stampers Anonymous stamps and the new Alterations Sizzix dies from Tim Holtz! We will make four 6x6" card fronts can also be used in mini books if you choose not to make cards . . . this is all about techniques.

STUDIO STYLE CARDS

Wednesday April 14th 3-5pm $28  (2 hour workshop)

The creative possibilities where using paints are endless! Using Claudine Hellmuth's Studio Line from Ranger we will create 4 gorgeous 6x6" cards while you learn techniques using gesso, Multi-Medium, acrylic paint and Sticky Back Canvas.Additionally, we will alter some elements from the new line of Sizzix dies from Time Holtz!Let me show you how fun and easy it is to play with paint!

Jen is a fully Certified and Ranger Recognized Instructor. She was on the 2007-2008 Design Team Coordinator for Ranger Industries and continues to teach and do private design work for them. She is also a endorsed instructor for Prima Marketing and Tattered Angels. She works with Tim Holtz and shares his style of art...with a bit more color.

Jenn has been scrapbooking since 1997 and lives in Northern New Jersey with her beautiful children who are usually the main subject of most of her work.

She has taught scrapbooking and stamping techniques classes at stores as well as crops and large events all over the US and regularly Europe and Canada. She has been a feature instructor on several craft cruises, CKU, Scrapbook Expo, Memories Expo, and so much more.

She loves to bring her scrapbooks out of the albums and up on the walls to live with more openly every day. Most importantly she loves the versatility stamps bring to her work...the creative options have endless possibilities, especially when adding inks and paints!

FAST AND FURIOUS LAYOUT CLASS

 

Join Terry in this class making four fun fast paced layouts. These kits contain tons of fun products from Scenic Rote. Make for layouts for less than $8 each. This class will be held Sunday, March 28th from 2p-5p, and will cost $30.

Need a unique and adorable way to give an inexpensive Easter treat? Join Lori to make this "sweet" 3-D project. Techniques used in this class include copic markers, bone folder/score pal, cuttlebug w/ spellbinders and stamping. This class is $10 and will be held Monday, March 8th from 6p-8p.

INK IT UP WITH DISTRESS INKS

We are so excited for Jana to start teaching here at Simply Scrapbooks! She is Ranger Certified and Copic Certified. (Many of you know her from co-teaching here at the store with Jennifer Mcguire and from her classes at Stamp You Art Out.)

Look forward to some wonderful classes and learn some fabulous stamping techniques. The technique class will include five technique tags and cards. Join Jana Millen for a 2 hour class wehre you will learn how to use Ranger's Distress Inks. Jana is a certified Ranger instructor who studied with Tim Holtz at Ranger University and will share some of the many techniques that she learned from him. For each technique we will first practice it and create a sample tag with instructions printed on it so you will always have a record of how to do it. Then we will make a card using each technique. So you will leave the class with 5 cards and 5 sample tags. (Note: This class teaches the same techniques that were taught in the Distress Ink classes at Stamp Your Art Out in Blue Ash, OH. However, this class uses the newest Hero Arts products and new Distress Ink colors so the cards are somewhat different.)

 

KIDS CLASS

We are starting our monthly kids classes again. Join our teens Danielle, Zack, and Cassie as they teach your children how to make these darling projects. This months project will be a mini scrapbook purse covered in zebra paper with some bling and ribbon. Parents can drop off or attend class with their child. Cost is $5 and will take place Saturday March 27th, from 1p-3p.

You've seen Maxine from Hallmark, now meet the Golden Oldies gang. These seasoned gals really add some spunk to your cards! Techniques used in this class include copic markers, scor-pal, spellbinders and stamping. This class will be Monday March 15th from 6p-8p. This class costs $12.50.

UNITY SPRING CARDS

 

Join Nicki in making six fun spring cards with the Stamp of the Month kit from Unity Stamps. The cost is $22 and takes place Wednesday March 13th from 1p-3p.

BEGINNER CLASS WITH VAL

Join Val in making a fun one page layout and learn the basics of scrapbooking. Make this darling St. Patricks Day layout. She will guide you in how to use your basic supplies and basic layout techniques. No kits on this class. This class is $7.00 and will take place Thursday, March 4th from 1p-3p and Sunday March 14th from 2p-4p.

Puppy Love Inky Antic Cards

Stationary Purse 2/28/10

 

Join Lori and learn how to make a cute stationary purse (all from cardstock). Included in this class are 4 pinwheel cards. This would make a great gift for any occasion. Although an instruction sheet will be included, attending class is a MUST. Kits will NOT be available. Cost for this class is $22. This class will be held Feb. 28th from 1-4p.

Springtime Cards with Slice 2/22/10

Join Nicki in making these fun spring cards and learn how to use the slice machine and the spring cartridge. Bring your slice to class...but if you don't own one, no problem you can use ours. The class will begin at 6p til 8p on Monday Feb. 22nd. The cost of this class is $15.

Denami Springtime Cards 2/15/10

Spring is almost here! Put down the shovels and think spring by making 3 adorable birthday/get well cards featuring DeNami chicks. All stamping will be done in class. This class costs $12.50 and will be held on Feb. 15 from 6-8p.

Recipes with Love Mini Book 2/8/10

 

Join Val to create a vintage cookbook to hold treasured recipes; those that were passed down or lovingly acquired. Book will include spots for pictures, journaling memories, and plenty of space to store recipes. Learn how to use the Bind-It-All in this class. No kits on this class. This class is to be held Monday, Feb. 8th from 6-9p. This class costs $25.

Vintage Valentine Mini Book 2/6/10

 

This 10 page mini book features tons of wonderful vintage valentine images. This one of a kind original piece of art is created on a sturdy chipboard book and bound with c-rings. Each page is a different shape adding interest when closed. There are tons of space for journaling and room for 12+ pictures for you to place of you and your beloved one. Created to look aged, yet classy with touches of sparkle using glimmer mists and distress stickles. Colors include hues of vintage blue, cream, red, brown and rose pink.
