My Favorite Things December Release

Who Hoo! The stamps and die are in!

They have some great stamps this release! Tea Pot die & stamp, skyline border...love this one, oval doily, tabs, sports balls stamp & die and some great winter stamps. Our favorite is the A la Mode Hot Chocolate stamp. And of course tons of new pure innocence stamps!

I don't know about you but I love Hero Arts and I am so excited about this Saturday's Debut Party at Simply Scrapbooks.  i love to see all the new stamps.  Have you ever wondered what it would be like to talk a walk around the Hero Arts Warehouse?  Well let's take a look at a sneak peek at their warehouse and some of the Brand New Stamps!  It's a lot of fun!

Design Team Inspiration

Do you make your own Christmas Cards?  I only make a couple a year for some special people who truly love handmade cards.  This year I made a card using the new line from Imaginisce Santa's Little Helper.  This line is so  cute.  Here is a quick look at my card.

To make this card I started with some Hot Fudge Bazzill cardstock as my base and then layered several different pattern papers from the Imaginisce collection.  I then picked out a couple of the die cuts from the collection.  I like to add a little bling to my cards and I added some I Rock glam stones and gemstones to my tree and snowflake just to give it a little sparkle because Christmas needs a little sparkle -right?

Meet Design Team Member, Mary Pat

Today it is time to meet the final member of the Simply Scrapbooks Design Team, Mary Pat Siehl!

1.       Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am married to a wonderful guy that I love calling my best friend.  We have 2 boys that keep me stocked in photos forever. I have been scrapping for as long as I can remember.  I have always enjoyed paper crafting.

 This is my 23rd year teaching high school Spanish.  I love teaching!

2.       When did you first start scrapbooking and why?

I would make fun albums back in college using just construction paper and stickers.  At that time there weren't pretty papers and all types of embellishments.  I have always enjoyed paper crafting and I am just now getting hooked on making home decor items.

 

3.  Do you prefer cardstock or patterned paper?

 I would have to say I am a pattern paper junkie!  I love it.  I love to layer all the different papers together one on top of the other!  Of course my base is always cardstock, but cardstock doesn't get me all excited!

4.  What is your ‘go to’ embellishment?

 I would have to say buttons!  I love buttons especially the new Doodlebug buttons in different shapes and of course they match the paper, but I also love all types-chipboard, stickers, die cuts.  I love them all!

5.      Do you like to go to crops or prefer to scrap alone? 

 I never scrap alone!  I usually scrap at home and my desk is a partner's desk and my 2 boys have their chairs across from me.  The LOVE to color and and scrap as well.  I also love going to at least one crop a month to meet up with my friends at Simply Scrapbooks.  I love getting all the inspiration from the other desing team members and crafters.

6.  What are your favorite types of projects—pages, mini albums, cards, altered projects, etc?

 I love to make it all!!!

7.  Computer or handwritten journaling?

 Both!

8.  How long does it typically take you to complete a project?

 It really depends on the project. 

9.  Are you a neat scrapbooker or is your space a mess?

 Totally  a neat freak!

10. Do you have a favorite adhesive?

 I love my ATG gun.  I have had it for over 7 years now and I love it!  I also love the American Crafts pop dots.

11.  Do you have a favorite die cutting system?

I am in love with my Silhouette!  It is just so much fun and I just recently upgraded to the Cameo.  Oh my I am in heaven!!

12.  What other things do you do at Simply Scrapbooks?

I teach a monthly sketch class that is for the budget minded person.  These are really fun classes.  I also teach card classes.  I am write for the blog and facebook page so you might see me around here!

13.  Do you have a blog?

I have a blog called Siehled with a Kiss.  I would love for you to stop by and even sign up to follow me! I post everything from home decor, scrapbooking  to cards.  I try to have a lot of fun!

Angry Birds Card Class

You've asked for it & we have it! 

Angry Bird fans of all ages are welcome to join Lori on Wed. Dec 28th from 5-7pm.  The class has been divided up into class A and class B but will be offered at the same time.  Each set of 3 cards will be $8.  Feel free to sign up for both to complete your set with 2 green piggies, the yellow, black bomb, blue, and red bird cards.

 

You will need to bring the following to class: adhesive, pop dots, white, charcoal, and a peachy/flesh colored ink.

New Authentique!

Authentique has done it again! Everyone is loving the 6x6 paper pads and now Authentique is the first manufacturer to offer open-stock 6x6 paper. That means that you can buy the specific papers that you love one by one. It's called the Free Bird Series.  Of course, the papers can also be bought in paper pads. Great fall colors and classical patterns.  Let's take a look!

You really need to see these fabulous designs and colors in person.  I really think you will fall in love with them.  They are just perfect for all types of paper crafts.

October Afternoon Is Finally In The House!!

Two new lines from October Afternoon have just arrived.  If you love October Afternoon and their vintage pape then you are going to FLIP when you see these two new lines.  The first line is Farmhouse and it is just stunning.

A Bella Winter Wonderland

All the new mid season realease are coming in every day and I have some new Bella Blvd for you.  This wonderful winter line is just so fun and cute.  Perfect to scrap all those winter photos.

New Basic Grey Has Arrived!

All you Basic Grey fans are going to want to come on in and see the TWO new collections that have just been put on the shelves.  These two new lines are just stunning!  The first new line is Little Black Dress and it is just so elegant. 

Isn't is just so pretty?  This would be perfect paper for wedding, anniversary or any other occasion.

The second new line is Picadilly.  The winter month's are upon us now and this line is just a so pretty and reminds me of spring.

Design Team Inspiration

Time for another addition of Design Team Inspiration!  Even though we have been focusing on Christmas this month, it is still fall, and I don't know about you but I still have tons of fall pictures to scrap.  Well if you are like me than you will really love Amy Cloud's new layout.

This layout features the Fancy Pants Summer's End line.

Here is a wonderful card featuring the line as well.

Paper:  Fancy Pants Summer’s End Collection:  Cider (1-stripe side)

   Falling Leaves (1-both sides), Abundance (1-dot side) and

   Fall Frames (1-both sides)

Cardstock:  Bazzill Tawny Medium (1), Desert Coral Medium (1),

   Lagoon (1), and Dusk (2-background)

Embellishments:  Leaves cut from Falling Leaves paper, Frame cut

   from Fall Frames paper

Designer’s Note:  I used the book “Sketches for Scrapbooking”-

   Volume 8 (second layout in book) for the design of my layout.   These

   are awesome books for layout design and creativity starters AND

   they are available at Simply Scrapbooks NOW!

Hey Everyone!

Are you ready for today's inspiration?  Today we are going to take a look at a wonderful double page layout from our very own Amy Cloud. 

Amy's layout features the wondeful Holiday line from Little Yellow Bicycle! 

 

10 Things I LOVE About Christmas

Designer: Amy Cloud

Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle Wonder & Wishes Collection:

 Dots on Green (2-background), Simple Stripe (1), and

Little Red Hot Dot (1)

Cardstock: Bazzill Red (2), White (1) and Hummingbird (2)

Embellishments: Wonder & Wishes 10 Things Present, Cardstock Stickers

and Stick Pins

Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink Barn Door and Shabby Shutters,

Colorobox Warm Green

Other: Assorted Scalloped Punches for Flower and Foam Tape

Designer Note: To make flower punch four scallops or circles from

paper, spritz with water, wad into a tight ball, allow to dry, un-wad

and layer into flower. Once completely dry, I use glue dots to

adhere each flower layer and foam tape to adhere to layout.

Secure stick pins into foam tape.

Bo Bunny has 2 new lines out for the holidays.  Both are just fabulous.  It is hard to choose a favorite because they both are so wonderful.

The colors are so pretty and I love the huge snowflake stickers. 

Father Christmas

This line has that vintage feel to it . The chipboard is just amazing!

New Little Yellow Bicycle

Little Yellow Bicycle has a new line Holiday Line out right now called Wonder and Wishes.  I must say this line is just so cute.  There are so many different types of embellishments in this line.
