Designer Note: Everything in this mini-book was either picked-up on my trip or collected on the beach! 

I pre-made the book and took it with me and journalled every night and printed my pictures. I had

very little work to do upon arrival home; other than print my 4x6 pictures. The book is very easy to

take apart, and I moved around some photo sleeves and journalling pages to fit my needs. I also

removed the excess pocket pages that I did not use. I used all my left-over printed paper to make

tags for in the pockets. This is a super fun little book to make …you just have to remember to take

lots of photos.

Design Team Inspiration with Mary Pat

Hi Everyone,

Did  you like yesterday's home decor piece, a beautiful Spring wreath, from Amy?  I know I did.  Well, today I am bringing you something I made for my home.  I have an Easter Egg tree that sits on our book case.  I have always wanted something to sit underneath the tree and when I saw the Jillibean Soup Chicken Dumpling Soup I knew exactly what I wanted to do. 

For this home decor piece I started out with and old off white 8 x 10 picture frame and then I wanted to create a Spring/Easter page.  For this I used my Silhouette Cameo and found shapes of Easter eggs, and baby chicks.  I know the Cricut has a Spring cartridge that has similar shapes.  I cute out the grass, eggs, chick, and clouds using my Silhouette.  I cut the bunnies out from the pattern paper.  I then created my scene.  I did emboss the clouds with a cuttlebug folder.  I used the die cut to add a little title.  The die cut came from the Jillibean Soup collection.

Hi Everyone,

Today and tomorrow I am going to show you some really fun home decor pieces that you can whip up to decorate the house for all your Easter and Spring activities.  Today Amy brings you the most adorable wreath that would look perfect on any door in your home.  It is made with the new Jillibean Soup Chicken Dumpling Soup.

Easter Wreath

Designer: Amy Cloud

Supplies: Choose 8-10 super cute printed papers that you think go together. I used a mix of

Jillibean Southern Chicken Dumpling Soup (both sides) and a dash of Egg Drop Soup ~ Pick whatever

you like!

Eggs: All eggs were cut using the Cricut Cartridge“Spring”. I cut 6-8 of each color. If the paper was

double sided, 16 eggs can be cut from one sheet! 

Bunny: Cut from the Cricut Cartridge “Spring” using Bazzill White. Then I used a paper crimper

to add texture. I also added some pink bling for an eye and a pink bow!

Flower Sprigs: Cut using the Cricut Cartridge “Straight from the Nest” using Bazzill Brown at

2 inches!

Ink: Colorbox Rouge – I inked the bunny after crimping! 

Additional Supplies: 12” wreath wire purchased at Jo Ann Fabrics, pink ribbon for bunny’s bow,

Easter sprig for added decoration purchased at JoAnn Fabrics, hot glue gun and extra hot glue! 

Assembly: Begin hot gluing eggs to the wire wreath alternating colors. Glue Easter sprig

on the wreath, assemble bunny and hot glue to wreath!!  

Designer Note: I started at the bottom center and went up the wreath in both directions so the

eggs were going the correct direction on both sides and it wasn’t really noticeable where the

met at the top!

A little inspiration using this beautiful line.

The next new line is one of my favorites from Little Yellow Bicycle- Saturdays.

Here is a home decor piece that I (Mary Pat) made for my house.  I bought a printer's trey and decorated each box with chipboard, stickers, pattern paper and pictures of my boys, Jack and Michael.

The next line is perfect for those of you who want to scrap their wedding, anniversary, or graduation.  It is called Swoon.

Today we are talking "B" sides!  Amy made an incredible new layout using the "B" sides of the new line from Best Creations.  The line is 16 candles.  Well this line is made for a girls 16th birthday but Amy used the collection's "B" sides and made a layout of her daughter's birthday and let me tell you this layout is just too cute.

We are in full swing Spring mode here at Simply.  The store is looking so bright and cheery with all the wonderful Spring collections coming in.  Today I want to take a look at one of those collections.  It is the We R Memory Keepers Cottan Tail.  This line is perfect for Spring and Easter.  Amy has made an amazing layout using this line.

I love the pastels mixed with the brown.  That is one of my favorite color combinations!

Hello Everyone!

Do you remember the song "Good Day Sunshine?"  Well, every time I think of this new collection from We R Memory Keepers Good Day Sunshine I start singing the song.  I hate it when a song is stuck in my head all day--don't you? 

So today I am bringing you a layout created by our very own Amy Cloud using this pretty line.

New Authentique!

Have you been loving the new lines from Authentique?  Well, we have another new collection for you today.  This line is called Loyal and it is just so beautiful.  I just love the blues and  greens in this collection. 

 

I have a little inspiration for you too!  Kim, our design team member made an amazing layout using this new collection.

Some St. Patrick's Day Treats by Amy

Can you believe that today is March 1st?  Spring is just around the corner and that means St. Patrick's day is almost here!  Amy has come up with some adorable was to give your friends and family some fun treats for St. Patrick's day using the clear acrylic boxes.  Let's take a look at her creations using a simple tag, green ribbon,  and one of the clear boxes.

The purse- Amy used to green grass and added some gold coin candy.  Any leprechaun would love to give this little gift. (The gold coins can be bought at the Dollar Store).

Here Amy used a clear box and added the coins. 

The tube- fill these with a green color M&M candy!

 

The treat box (larger size)-

Here is the recipe for making these wonderful pretzel treats!  I am totally addicted to these!

Pretzel Treats 

 

Heat oven to 170F.  Place, waffle-shaped pretzels in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, then top each pretzel with an unwrapped Hershey’s Kiss or Hershey’s Hug. 

 

Bake for 4-6 minutes (the white chocolate will melt more quickly), until the chocolate feels soft when touched.  Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and quickly press an M&M into the center of each Kiss.   

 

Allow treats to cool for a few minutes, then place them in the refrigerator to set, about 10 minutes.  ENJOY!

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday I showed you a layout that I made using the Travelogue collection from Graphic 45.  Today I want to show you what I created using the scraps.  I used the wonderful paper and layered all the colors to create a fun and bright birthday card.

I matted the card in a rich dark brown so that the colors would just pop off the page.  I also took one of the tag stickers from the collection and added my sentiment of Happy Birthday, and finally added a bit of twine from the twinery.  Very simple and easy to make!

Hey Everyone,

Yesterday I showed you a layout that I made using the Authentique Celebrate collection and today I wanted to share with you a card that I made using my scraps.  Yesterday's inpiration I used the collection in the way that it was ment to be used - as a birthday paper line, but today I used the paper to create a card to give to someone special.

I used the paper to create a wonderful card with a tag sticker with the sentiment " Celebrate life everyday everywhere!"  This doesn't have to be used for a birthday but just a card to send to someone special.  I added a few Hero arts gems and a little bit of twine from the Twinery.

Today I want to share a layout with you that I created using the Heart Collection from Crate Paper.  When you see this line of paper you  immediately think of Valentine's day; however, I wanted to create a layout using this awesome paper collection but I didn't have any Valentine's day photos.  So what is a scrapper do to?  Well, I decided to make a layout about the things I love right now.  Every year I like to do a layout about the things that interest me. 

I like the idea of looking back in my album to see things that I loved.  For me right now the things I love are: my iphone, my new pandora bracelet, my tom tom, my nook, my favorite show, modern family and finally my newest addition to my craft table, my cameo!

Do you need a fun and cute way to wrap a present for Valentine's day?  Kim has made the cutest pails.  These would be so fun to give to your friend or loved one filled with their favorite things.

Cardstock Stickers: Fancy Pants Love

Ink: Tim Holtz Red Brick and Black Soot

Other: Ribbon,Pearls, Foam Tape,Heart Rhinestone,Bo Bunny gems, twine, Stickles Diamond and Black Diamond. Cricut Cartridge Accent Essentials.

I used some  fine red glitter inside the pail before placing the paper inside to give it a glittery effect. I just wiped out the excess.

I used the Red Brick ink to color the ribbon.
